Finally after 5 years of silence, an update!
I’ll keep it short so here’s a summary of things that have happened:
- New job at remotely.works (May 2022)
Working with old colleagues in HR world, not very glamorous but brings good money (spanish standards) to the table.
- My wife and I bought a house (January 2023)
Bye bye our savings! House is big (200 m^2, ~2K sq ft in freedom units) but old (from 1970s) and needs lots of work but the views are awesome and the lot is plenty big (1000 square meters or ~10K sq ft in freedom units). The only big items left are roof and some windows, we already got an electric heat pump, a shitty solar panel installation and 2 ACs for the summer.
- We got two cats Haku (May 2023), a maine coon and Enano, a regular orange cat (adopted Dec 2025)

They mostly get along just fine:

- New car: BYD Seal U (Aug 2025)
My tiny Skoda Fabia with 60 HP was a champion but gas prices only go up and the roads here are steep so I decided to go for an electric car. Initially I was more interested in a BYD Seal (has more boot space) but finally landed on the SUV version. Both have batteries that are very hard to go boom (LiFePO4 chemistry is awesome).

- We got evacuated from home for almost a week due to fires
The entire town got an alert on their phones so we spent 30+ minutes stuck until cars started moving. Perfect moment to get out of the car and take this picture of the mountains by the south. It was a bit scary to be honest.

Later that same day, somebody from town shared this video with us:
No houses were burnt but it got very close (400m away from home). It was a stressful situation but it seems to be mostly over now.
- SpaceSim is still alive and after re-doing it 4 times already it’s now very close to launch
I had many changes of heart about it. It started as an improve OGame but then I kept finding ways to merge more and more EVE Online mechanics. It’s now an odd mix of how both games could combined into one.
I spent months refining specs about every feature and that’s proven to be a great way to find holes and also really nice to ask some LLMs to implement an MVP to quickly verify if it’s fun and makes sense.
That’s all for now!
